| Professional HygieneMost
animal guardians have tremendous resistance to putting their animal companions
under anesthesia for dental procedures. Subsequently, the animal guardians puts
it off, or does not do it all, especially as the animal companion gets older,
when it is increasingly more important for the animal companion's overall health
and welfare. The direct correlation between periodontal disease and heart
disease is well-documented. Your pets will live longer and enjoy better health
if their teeth are kept clean and the gums are free of periodontal disease. Now you
have an alternative to anesthesia teeth cleaning--a dental hygienist happily
dedicated to providing the best possible service with minimal stress to the
patient. You get a dental hygienist with 30 years experience that has a deep
love and respect for dogs and cats. Services Offered
Infection Control and Compliance
InstrumentationComplete instrument setup includes appropriately-sized instruments for the very small dog or cat up through the giant-breed dog. To ensure I have just the right instruments for all the different sizes and shapes of teeth, I have complete sets of mini and micro scalers in addition to regular scalers to clean even the smallest of teeth. Even giant dogs have tiny front teeth that can collect tartar under the gums. With my micro scalers I can slip between the tooth and the gum and remove tartar deposits without causing any discomfort to sensitivegums.
We work with your veterinarianI work
with you and your veterinarian to ensure that patients have been screened and
treated where appropriate with prophylactic antibiotic therapy. It is
inevitable that bacteria are introduced into the bloodstream when the teeth are
scaled. Most of the time this is not
a problem but the possibility exists that a septicemia (blood infection) could
develop. This could be serious, possibly even life threatening.
This is why your veterinarian should be consulted to see if your pet
needs to be pre-medicated. It
becomes more important is your pet is older or has other health issues, such as
a heart murmur or kidney disease. When
all the teeth have been cleaned, I do a thorough inspection of the teeth and I
will refer you to your veterinarian if I find cavities, loose teeth, or any hard
or soft tissue abnormalities. Instrumentation
Effective combining of modalitiesTo be the most effective in non-anesthesia teeth-cleaning, I begin by connecting telepathically with your companion animal and explaining who I am and what my intentions are. I ask for your companion's cooperation as I do not believe in using force, threats, or intimidation to coerce your companion animal into letting me clean his teeth. I believe in love, kindness, and respect. I let your companion know I am going to do everything in my power to make this experience as easy and as comfortable as possible. I feel I am uniquely qualified to provide this service as I am able to combine my skills as a dental hygienist, flower essence practitioner and animal communicator.
I spray Mirror of Perfection Miracle Drops on their gums before cleaning and scaling to eliminate any discomfort from cleaning/scaling under the gums. After the scaling and polishing is completed, a grapefruit seed extract solution is sprayed on the teeth and gums. Grapefruit seed has natural anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties. These therapies are completely non-toxic and can be used by tiny dogs and cats.
